New students:

New students must schedule a Skype audition/interview before being added to my teaching roster. There is no charge for the audition. For transfer students, please prepare 2 or 3 pieces that you have previously completed for your audition. For beginners, I will email you a packet to print out for us to use during our interview. To request an audition, please email me at zbdoll@gmail.com.

In-Person Recitals:
Fall/Winter Recital is in mid-January; Spring Recital is in early June. The recital fee (per recital) is $30 for one child, $35 for two or more children, to offset rental fees. Recital participation is encouraged but is not mandatory. We also have informal recitals at a local assisted living center twice a semester.

Coming Soon - In-Person Studio Classes!:
I am working on finding a venue for our studio to have group studio masterclasses twice a semester. A small group of 3-5 students would perform, for me but also for the other students who are performing. Students would receive a lesson from me, and receive feedback from the other student participants.
Assessments, Competitions, and Festivals:
My students have the opportunity to participate in NJMTA (New Jersey Music Teacher's Association) events, as well as Royal Conservatory of Music assessments, ABRSM exams, and other events such as the Golden Key Festival. Please feel to ask me which events might be a good fit for your child.

Practicing:
DAILY practice is expected. Students should read and follow what I have written in their assignment books every day to be sure they are practicing correctly. This includes not only the correct notes, but also correct hand position, posture, dynamics, expression, and fingering. Continued disregard for my practicing instructions may result in dismissal from the studio.

Books and Materials:
From time to time I will ask for you to purchase new books for your child. I will email you a link to purchase the books online; please do so at your earliest convenience.
Contacting me:
Email: zbdoll@gmail.com
Phone number will be given upon starting lessons. Please note I prefer all studio correspondence to be done via email rather than text.
Holidays 2024-25:

Holiday schedule available on request

Behavior during lessons:
Polite behavior is expected at all times. Lessons may be terminated by the teacher at any time if persistently rude or disrespectful behavior occurs either by the student or a parent. Disrespectful/rude behavior includes talking back, arguing, playing/talking while I am talking, and continually ignoring my practicing instructions.

Cessation of Lessons:
Should you/your child decide to stop lessons, I must have one month’s written notice; otherwise any unused lessons will not be credited except in the case of serious illness.
