2023 News

 

First, congratulations to everyone on your finely prepared recital performances from both our Winter recital in January and our recent Spring recital which was held on June 10th. You all prepared so thoroughly and it showed in your excellent performances! Bravo to all of you!

​

The Crescendo International Competition was held online in December. Alicia L. received First Place Ranking, AudreyAnna P. and Sheryl C. received 2nd Place ranking, and Brian L. received 3rd place ranking. Congratulations everyone!

​

The First Annual Royal Conservatory of Music "Music Lights the Way" Festival was also held online in December. Students prepared a video of one repertoire selection of their choice from the new 2022 6th Edition Royal Conservatory books. Zak M., Leah H., Zinia J., Lucas Z., and Alicia L. all worked hard at preparing and submitting videos. Congratulations!

 

The NJMTA Spring Festival was held in person at Rutgers in March; 15 students participated: Leah H., Angie H., Ansh P., Zak M., Loukas D., Petros D., AudreyAnna P., Linus Y., Lucas Z., Lindsey C., Alicia L., Brian L., Abigail T., Raina J., and Zinia J.

Abigail earned her 7 year trophy. Lindsey, Zinia, Petros, and AudreyAnna earned their 5 year trophies. Lucas, Angie, and Loukas earned their 3 year medals. Congratulations to all of you!

 

The Golden Key Festival was held online in April. Lucas Z. earned Super Bronze ranking and performed The Avalanche by Stephen Heller on the Winners Recital at Lincoln Center on May 7th in NYC, and received a beautiful medal. Congratulations, Lucas!

 

The NJMTA Recital Auditions were held in person at Rutgers in April. Brian and Alicia L. participated, and Brian and earned his 5 year trophy. Congrats Alicia and Brian!

 

Jayden W. and Leah H. just took their first Royal Conservatory of Music assessments at the beginning of June, and both earned First Class Honors ranking. Congratulations to both of them!

 

Lindsey C. will be preparing her ABRSM Grade 5 performance video exam in the coming weeks. Good luck Lindsey!

 

2022 News

​

We were all thrilled to have our first in-person recital on Saturday, June 11th. Although not everyone was able to make it, it was a wonderful performance and everyone was happy to be back together again!

​

AudreyAnna P. participated in the Crescendo International Competition, which was held online in December, and performed Springtime Ballad by Mike Springer. She received First Place ranking and performed in the Winner’s Concert at the German Society in Philadelphia on March 27th. Congratulations to AudreyAnna!

​

The NJMTA Spring Festival was held online in March. Many students participated: Loukas D., Petros D., Angela H., Allison H., AudreyAnna P., Lucas Z., Rosemary D., Lindsey C., Alicia L., Abigail T. and Sheryl C. Everyone received rankings of Excellent or Very Good, and Rosemary earned her 5-year trophy! Congratulations everyone!

 

The NJMTA Recital Auditions were held online and in person in April. Students receiving rankings of Honors or High Honors are invited to perform on recitals in May. Alicia L. received the highest ranking of High Honors and performed on the recital May 14th, and earned her 5-year trophy. Congratulations Alicia!

2021 News

​

Rudra J. and AudreyAnna P. both participated in the Crescendo International Competition, which was held online in December. AudreyAnna performed the Burgmuller Ballade and won First Place Honors, and Rudra performed the Bach Fugue in D Minor and won Second Place Honors. Both will have the opportunity to participate in winner’s recitals at Carnegie Hall in New York City once the hall reopens for concerts. Congratulations to both of you!

​

In February, Sheryl C. and AudreyAnna P. performed on the MEA Student Recital on Zoom. AudreyAnna played the Burgmuller Ballade and Sheryl performed the Chopin Raindrop Prelude. Congratulations to both of you!

​

The NJMTA Spring Festival was held online in March and participants included Sheryl C., Abigail T., Joshua T., Rudra J., Petros and Loukas D. Lindsey C., Lasya B., AudreyAnna P., Alani B., Lucas Z., Angela H., and Rosemary D. Students earning their 5-year participation trophies were: Abigail T., Joshua T., Rudra J., and Lasya B.; students earning their 3-year participation medals were: Sheryl C., Petros D., Lindsey C., and AudreyAnna P. Congratulations to all!

​

AudreyAnna P. participated in the Little Mozarts competition in April, performing Ivan Sings by Aram Khatchaturian. She earned 2nd place Honors and will have the opportunity to perform on a winner’s concert at Carnegie Hall next year. Also special shout out to AudreyAnna for composing her own song to include on our Spring recital, “Drifting Clouds”!

​

Special congratulations to Lindsey C. for earning the highest ranking of Distinction for her Grade 4 ABRSM exam in May. For the performance exam, Lindsey prepared four pieces and recorded her video of them in one single unedited video concert. She worked very hard to prepare her pieces and video presentation to the highest level. Congratulations Lindsey!

 

2020 News

​

Several students participated in the NJMTA Spring Festival, which was held online this year. Participants were: AudreyAnna P., Petros D., Rosemary D., Lindsey C., Joshua T., Abigail T., Lasya B., Sheryl C., and Rudra J. Everyone received top ratings of Excellent or Very Good. Rosemary earned her 3-Year Medal. Congratulations all!

​

Rudra J. earned 2nd Place Ranking in the Crescendo International Competition which was held in December, and as a result performed at Carnegie Hall’s Weill Recital Hall in February. Congratulations Rudra!

​

AudreyAnna P. and Anika B. both participated in the Little Mozarts Competition, which was also held online. They both earned 2nd Place Ranking and will have the opportunity to perform at Carnegie Hall in the fall. 

​

Many students worked hard to prepare for RCM Assessments and ABRSM Exams this Spring, and will be postponing them until next year. Students who prepared for these exams include AudreyAnna P., Rosemary D., Lindsey C., Abigail T., Anika B., Riya B., Nikki B., and Sheryl C. Keep up the good work everyone!

2019 News

​

Congratulations to everyone who participated in our Spring Recitals. Everyone really played their best and I am very proud of all of you!

​

Congratulations to Abigail T., Anika B., Vivian S., Sheryl C., and AudreyAnna P. for performing this spring at Carnegie Hall as winners of the 2019 Little Mozarts Competition! Out of the 5 students from our studio who participated, all 5 earned the opportunity to play at Carnegie Hall. Congrats everyone on your hard work!

​

Also congratulations to Rudra J., who performed at Carnegie Hall in February as a winner of the 2018 Crescendo International Competition. Congratulations, Rudra!

​

We had a number of students participate in the NJMTA Spring Festival this March. Congratulations especially to students who received their 3-Year Participation medals this year- Anika P., Rudra J., Lasya B., Abigail T., Joshua T., and Vivian S.!

​

Many students also participated in Royal Conservatory of Music Assessments in May and June. Congratulations to Jacob P. for receiving First Class Honors with Distinction rating, not only in piano but also in voice!

2018 News

​

Congratulations to Abigail T. and Anika B. for receiving the ranking of Second Place Honor in the 2018 Little Mozarts Competition, which was held in March at Westminster Conservatory. Both Abigail and Anika will be performing on Winners Recitals in May at Carnegie Hall - Weill Recital Hall. Congratulations on this fine achievement!

​

Congratulations are also in order for Rudra J., who performed at the beautiful Rockport Performing Arts Center in Rockport, MA, on April 16th as a winner of the 2017 Crescendo International Competition. He performed J.S. Bach's Prelude in C Minor from The Well-Tempered Clavier Book 1. Congratulations Rudra!

​

Hearty congratulations to my Rutgers Extension Division student Jacob P., who recently performed on the Royal Conservatory of Music Celebration of Excellence Recital, at Carnegie Hall - Weill Recital Hall, in February. He received the highest score in New Jersey for his level in the Spring 2017 Practical Assessment exams, not only for piano, but also for voice! So he got to perform both at Carnegie Hall, and he performed brilliantly. Congratulations to Jacob and his family on this outstanding achievement!

​

Congratulations to everyone who participated in the NJMTA Spring Piano Festival on March 11 and 25th. I am very pleased to announce that all 7 students who participated received the highest rating of Excellent. Also congratulations to everyone who participated in the Little Mozarts Competition on March 17th!

​
